Community Design Workshop - Cygnet

Help Shape the Future of Cygnet

As part of the Cygnet Structure Plan, Huon Valley Council invites you to participate in design workshops focused on four specific sites and precincts. While the Cygnet Structure Plan will shape Cygnet broadly, Council has identified four areas that require more detailed focus, including three Council-owned sites. This is an excellent opportunity to influence how these important community assets are used and developed as Cygnet grows.

Building on feedback from our recent online survey, these workshops will refine ideas and priorities for three key sites, while exploring the future of the Mary Street Precinct—Cygnet's vibrant commercial and tourist heart.

Why These Workshops Matter

A Structure Plan provides the ideal framework to consider the future use and development of Council-owned land. Your input at these workshops will directly inform recommendations that will be implemented through the Cygnet Structure Plan, shaping these sites for generations to come.

We've heard from many of you through the online survey about potential uses for the Old School Farm, Old Cygnet Council Depot, and the Caravan Park. Now it's time to work together to refine these ideas, test their feasibility, and develop a shared vision for each site.

The Sites

  • Old School Farm

This vacant Council-owned site has captured community imagination for years. Previous community-prepared concept plans have been carefully reviewed and considered as part of this process. These workshops will build on that foundation, exploring how this site can best serve current and future community needs.

  • Old Cygnet Council Depot

Currently underutilised, this Council-owned site presents an opportunity for renewal. Let's work together to identify uses that align with community priorities and site potential.

  • The Caravan Park

This Council-owned site is ready for reimagining. What could this location become to best serve our community's future?

  • Mary Street Precinct

The beating heart of Cygnet's commercial and tourist activity. Help us ensure this vibrant precinct continues to thrive and evolve to meet community and visitor needs.
