Tasmanian federal redistribution of electorates
The proposed redistribution of federal electorates in Tasmania aims to ensure fair representation in the House of Representatives based on population and similar numbers of electors in each electorate.
The Redistribution Committee has proposed changes to four of Tasmania's five federal electorates, including significant adjustments to the electorates of Clark, Franklin, and Lyons. The redistribution will affect approximately 27.56% of all electors enrolled in Tasmania, with the aim of balancing current and projected enrolment across electorates while reflecting connected communities of interest and natural boundaries wherever possible.
Public suggestions and comments on the proposed redistribution are invited, and the final decision will be made by the Redistribution Committee.
