Port Huon is a small waterfront community of around 500 residents situated on the western shore of the Huon River, just 40 kilometres south of Hobart.

Our township sits at the meeting point of the Kermandie and Huon Rivers. The waterways have been a long part of our history and the port was once a busy trading port exporting local apples to the world.

Today Port Huon maintains its maritime character with a boat ramp, jetty facilities, yacht club, and waterfront homes that take advantage of our sheltered waters.

The community includes a mix of retirees, families, and professionals who appreciate the peaceful riverside lifestyle while remaining connected to the broader Huon Valley region.

With our proximity to Geeveston and Huonville for services and easy access to Hobart, Port Huon offers residents the best of both worlds—a tight-knit waterfront community with the conveniences of modern Tasmanian life within reach.
