Background
The Geeveston Town Hall is a volunteer run organisation governed by a community-led Controlling Authority that reports directly to Huon Valley Council. Our Town Hall has been the home to the only White ‘i' Visitors Centre in the Huon Valley, a gift shop featuring local suppliers, the Vin Smith woodworking museum, an Artist-in-Residence program, the Geeveston Feast, regular art exhibitions, spaces for rent and safe public spaces for those in need.
Our Mission Statement
“At Geeveston Town Hall Visitor Centre, we are committed to celebrating and supporting our local community and artisans. Our mission is to provide a welcoming space where visitors can learn about our rich history, enjoy local art and crafts, and participate in community events. We strive to enhance the visitor experience while preserving the unique character and heritage of Geeveston.”
Increased funding is essential to our long-term viability and allowing for more activities to be hosted. Moving to a not-for-profit Independent Association allows our hall to apply for grants which we (as a part of Council) are currently ineligible for.
